MOUNTAIN MOVING FAITH

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 17:19‭-‬21 NKJV

It is impossible to please God without faith and it is also impossible to do exploits without faith. These are well explained by the scriptures. God expects us to have faith and use it in receiving what we expect from him. The Bible tells us that all the heroes of the scriptures obtained their promises by faith.

However, in our scripture today, we find the disciples of Jesus trying to cast out a devil from a little boy but after trying all that they could, the devil refused to leave. Jesus came by and amazed at their inability to heal the boy requested that he should be brought to him and at one word, the boy became healed. The disciples surprised at how Jesus casted out the devil effortlessly had to ask him privately about how he did it. Jesus’ response to them was that they needed to have faith even if it was as small as a mustard seed. I am so sure they would have been surprised and would have been preparing to ask another question like “how can you say we had no faith despite all our trials?” They would have explained that if they had no faith, they won’t have made efforts to cast out the devil in the first place. But before they could ask that question, Jesus tells them that the kind of faith needed here can not be manifested without prayer and fasting.

This explains another dimension of faith and reason why most people despite claiming to have faith do not experience exploits in their lives. There is a dimension of faith that requires that you spend time praying and fasting. Let no one deceive you, it takes more than head and mouth confessing faith to heal the sick. You need to operate on a faith level that is totally beyond mind reasoning and out of the flesh. This was the kind of faith Jesus was talking about. I encourage you to choose certain times in the year when you spend time praying and fasting to develop this God kind of faith. I pray you will experience exploits and testimonies in Jesus name.
