WHAT KIND OF TONGUE IS YOURS?

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.
Proverbs 12:18 NKJV

One major part of our body which controls other parts is the tongue. The Bible describes the tongue as the rudder that controls the ship. The tongue is referred to as a little member but very powerful and delicate. Many have used their tongues wisely and it has produced blessings while the tongue of many has also put them in trouble.

In our discovery word today, we are told that the tongue of some is like the piercing of a sword which hurts and kills but there is also the tongue of the wise which promotes health. The question this morning is “what kind of a tongue is yours?”. Some people have used their tongues to destroy others by backbiting, speaking lies and slandering others and they have remained guilty till now. In relationships and marriages, the tongue is cause of most problems and challenges. Many homes today are in trouble because of what was said carelessly or stupidly. God wants us to be able to control our tongues. As a matter of fact, the use of your tongue goes a long way to determine how matured you are.

Your tongue is supposed to build others up and promote good health. What you say to yourself matters most. Some people constantly confess that they are defeated and that becomes their constant experience. Use your tongue to build up yourself. Speak words that will energize and encourage you to do more. This is why you must also move away from people who use their tongues wrongly against you. Never entertain people who use their tongues to destroy others or slander others. What they do to others before you, they would to do you before others also.

Train your tongue from today to promote health. You may not have been trained that way but you can make a change from today. Start by practicing how to speak the right words. Watch every word you speak like it determines your success in life. Receive the grace to speak life with your tongue from today in Jesus name.
