ASK GOD

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

God is so much of a father that he never gets tired of your requests and questions. Some people equate God with our earthly fathers who set limits to what we can ask for. Well, this is not the case with God.

In our scripture reading this morning, the Bible says we are to trust in the Lord with the whole of our heart. We should believe that God is interested in every and all areas of our lives. We are encouraged not to depend on what our mind tells us. Even though we are supposed to mature our minds to a level where our thoughts become like God, until then, we need to keep ensuring that we do not rely on what it tells us. Our minds can easily get corrupted with emotions and human decisions. The only way to minimize errors in life is to depend on what God says and not what our minds tell us. I have found out that some decisions are easy to make with your minds like which route do I pass to work and what clothes do I wear today. However, certain life decisions can not be abandoned to our understanding. Your career choice or choice of a spouse can not be left to your understanding. Where to live and who to make your mentor can not be left to your understanding. These are issues that God wants you to get Him involved in. He wants to be a part of your life. He wants to help you make decisions. He is even interested in the little ones as well.

If we get Him involved, we are told that He will direct our path. This means He would never ignore you. The next time you have a major decision to make, don’t decide in a hurry. Spend some time talking to God about it, go to a solitary place where you can easily hear the voice of God and wait for Him to say something about it. The fact that it looks or seems good does not imply that it is God. I pray you won’t fall into error in Jesus name.

DISCOVERY PRAYERS

1. Lord, I acknowledge you in all my ways and in all that I do from today in Jesus name.

2. I cease from every error and mistakes concerning issues of my life in Jesus name.

3. My life is moving in the right direction and all things are working in my favor in Jesus name.
