DISCOVERY WORD FOR TODAY. 17-04-2021

PUBLICIZE IT

“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.
Luke 11:33 NKJV

There is a natural tendency to doubt the genuineness of those things we claim to have found and are very important to us based on how we treat them. For example, if you find someone you love and you can’t express it or show it, then it is natural to raise doubts about the love you claim to have towards such a person.

In our scripture today, Jesus tells us the practical impossibility of lightning up a lamp and then hiding it under a basket because the purpose in the first place is to produce light. The reality is that when you light a lamp, you place it on a stand where everyone can receive light through it and see with it. This is exactly what ought to happen when we find something of value. When you claim to have received salvation and you are sure that it is a treasure which has changed your life, it becomes practically impossible to hide it from other people. Even if you are not the vocal type who would go around telling everyone, you would find it impossible to hide it.

Many of us today claim to have found salvation, God’s favor, God’s blessings and many other things but we are hiding it under a basket. Some of us even claim to have testimonies and yet cannot share it for the world to hear. If truly you have received something that gladdens your heart and has the capacity to give light to others, you would let the whole world see it without hesitation.

Perhaps, some of us are not familiar with the approach to such, this is a reminder and instruction on what to do with what God has given to us. If you have received light from anything, share it with others. Share Jesus with others, share your glorious church meetings with others, share your testimony with others and many other things you know you have received light from. I encourage you today not to hide your light under a basket. As a matter of fact, the skills given to many of us is light in itself and we ought to share it with other people. That skill or training you have received is light to someone else and you should never hide it. Let other people see light from your light.

From today, practice the habit of sharing light with other people. Whatever you know can bless other people which the Lord has given to you should be shared without delay. The proof that you have light is how well it helps other people to see. I pray your light shines well for the world to see in Jesus name.
