DISCOVERY WORD FOR TODAY. 31-03-2021

Now the mixed multitude who were among them yielded to intense craving; so the children of Israel also wept again and said: “Who will give us meat to eat? We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” Then Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, everyone at the door of his tent; and the anger of the Lord was greatly aroused; Moses also was displeased.
Numbers 11:4‭-‬6‭, ‬10 NKJV

The first step in receiving anything from the Lord is usually a desire. Whatever you don’t want, you can’t receive. However, it is also important to ensure you desire the right things. Having a desire for things is not bad just like the Bible tells us to covet earnestly the best gifts, but desiring the wrong things can actually put one in trouble.

In our scripture today, we find the Israelites craving for meat and all those things they ate in Egypt while God was still trying to get them into the Promised Land. They so craved and desired these Egyptian foods that they began to complain against God. It could be very annoying when people you are trying to help begin to complain against you. These people were craving for the wrong things and God became angry with them. From the scripture, you can see that this craving came as a result of the wrong people amongst them which the Bible calls the mixed multitude. Many of us crave for the wrong things out of competition or because we become connected to the wrong people.

God is not happy when we complain instead of rejoicing. When you start complaining about what you don’t yet have, it’s a sign you have started becoming influenced by the wrong people or wrong things. Our response to desires should not be complain but prayers and talking to God. Complain shows that we do not value what God has done in our lives or what God is doing at the moment. As parents, no one would like to see his or her children complain especially when you remember all you are doing to make them happy. If we would feel bad as parents, how much more God who watches over us daily and gives us life.

Be careful of the company that complains. Never use your mouth to complain against God, rather you should be filled with Thanksgiving. The Bible says God got very angry with the Israelites and even though He eventually gave them what they wanted, it resulted in the death of many of them. Repent today and begin to thank God for where you are. I pray your complains will stop from today in Jesus name.

DISCOVERY PRAYERS

1. I cease from every form of complain from today in Jesus name.

2. My mouth would be filled with only thanksgiving from today and I will have reasons to rejoice throughout this year in Jesus name.

Blessings
